‘Supergirl’ Adds Miss Martian and Mon-El to Season 2

Supergirl Adds Miss Martian and Mon-El to Season 2

On the heels of Katie McGrath (Merlin) joining Supergirl as Lena Luthor, two more have been announced for the upcoming second season. Sharon Leal (Grimm) and Chris Wood (The Vampire Diaries, Containment) will appear as Miss Martian and Mon-El.

Miss Martian has quite the history with Martian Manhunter, as she is actually a White Martian. She usually poses as a Green Martian because they are a lot easier on the eyes. It will be interesting to see how their relationship unfolds in the upcoming season.

As for Mon-El, he has incredible strength and powers reminiscent of the Supers, though he is not actually from Krypton. It has been confirmed that his character is the one in the pod that left us with a cliffhanger in season one. I was hoping for Superboy, but Mon-El could be just as interesting, because he has ties to the Legion of Super-Heroes, an organization that has been hinted at in both Supergirl and The Flash. With the Justice Society of America coming to Legends of Tomorrow, could we potentially see some ties to them?

Supergirl returns October 10 on The CW.
