‘Sharknado 4: The Fourth Awakens’ Review
Tonight was the premiere of Sharknado 4: The Fourth Awakens.
For those of you just tuning into the Sharknado world, the premise is that a storm wrecks havoc on a city and one man has the ability to save the day. That man is Fin Shepard (Ian Ziering). That storm is a tornado full of sharks.
My initial reaction was one of excitement, I loved the other three and couldn’t wait to see this one. And I was not disappointed.
The story takes place five years after the last film, because a company, Astro-X, has eliminated all sharknadoes. Until now…
And remember little Gil, the kid who was born inside a shark? He’s all grown up! Well ok, he’s 5, but he’s taking right after his father, mini chainsaw and all.
As for his father Fin, he was loving his retirement from the shark slaying business, but unfortunately gets called out of retirement when the sharknadoes start becoming rocknadoes, oilnadoes, nukenados and even cownadoes. He does the usual hero thing, but his weapon of choice: chainsaws.
#AprilLives #AprilDies She does kind of both. Fin and family think April (Tara Reid) is dead when she’s not and she thinks they’re dead (obviously they’re not) and she’s kind of a cyborg/superhuman now.
Together the happy family defeats sharknadoes and flying monuments? Hello Eiffel Tower!
And Nova is back? Does this mean there will be Sharknado 5?
This film was just as ridiculous as the rest and just as funny. There were sooooo many references! The Wizard of Oz, Terminator, Star Trek, Star Wars (of course), among uncounted others!
And the cameos, there were almost as many cameos as there were movies references. Todd Chrisley only lasts 17 minutes, Carrot Top is an Uber driver, Stacy Dash was the Wicked Mayor of Chicago, Al Rocker is back! (He is just as adorable as ever and this time he didn’t have to battle a shark) and I can’t forget those chippendales! But I’m only naming a few here, there were many, many more. Most of the cameos, however, were just there for the celebrities to get eaten, and not even in a unique way.
As much as I loved this movie, what would they do with a 5th one? Honestly I thought this was going to be the last Sharknado movie because the whole family was getting eaten one by one. But then little Gil had to go and save everybody. The last 10 minutes were really weird and felt rushed.
Overall I loved it, I love movies like this. They’re so ridiculous that they are funny!
