First Lady Michelle Obama Joins James Corden for ‘Carpool Karaoke’

Ok, everyone.  Let’s put the political debates aside and just enjoy this amazing episode of Carpool Karaoke from last night’s Late Late Show with James Corden.

In this installment, Corden is driving to 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue for a tour of the White House when he is stopped by security while entering the premises.  When he is denied entry to the property, the security guard orders him to pull to the side and await further instructions.  As he’s waiting, First Lady Michelle Obama hops in the passenger seat (a treat for the First lady as she later explains she’s only been able to “rock out” from the passenger’s seat of a car one time in 7 1/2 years — when her daughter Malia learned how to drive) and offers to be his tour guide around Washington, DC.

The pair begin to drive and, in true Carpool Karaoke fashion, belt out some awesome tunes starting with Stevie Wonder’s “Signed, Sealed, Delivered” and Beyonce’s “Single Ladies”.

The next song tackled by the First Lady and Corden is “This is for My Girls”, a song which the First Lady uses as her anthem for Let Girls Learn, a program which, as she explains, aims to help “62 million girls worldwide who aren’t in school for different reasons.  So much could be corrected if girls were educated and had power over their lives.”

Just in time for her rap verse, Missy Elliot magically appears in the back seat and totally rocks it as only Missy can do.  The trio then follows up her appearance with a rendition of “Get Ur Freak On,” one of Missy’s mega hits.
