Robert Kirkman Disappointed in George R.R. Martin for Spoiling ‘Game of Thrones’ Books
Rolling Stone did a profile on Kirkman in which he expressed his disappointment in Martin allowing Game of Thrones to spoil parts of his books.
He is referring to the A Song of Ice and Fire series being spoiled in this season of the HBO show. Although Martin has apologized to fans for finishing The Winds of Winter too late, and admitted that the season will give things away.
In Kirkman’s case, he never really had to work about his comics spoiling The Walking Dead, because they are so far ahead of the series. He told Rolling Stone, though, that if that was the case, that he would not let it spoil his own stories.
“That’s the one thing I’m disappointed in George R.R. Martin for doing. He should have just been like, ‘F–k you. You make it up now, I’ll get to mine when I’m ready.” Kirkman said.
Game of Thrones showrunners have come back claiming that the show experience won’t ruin the reading experience because the two are so different.
I guess it is up to the opinion of the avid readers and watchers-but Kirkman seems to also be a Game of Thrones fan!
Martin has insisted he is working hard to finish The Winds of Winter, but the book has no release date yet.
