Okay, so I’m not going to lie, one of the highlights of my life as a child was when my brother and I got to watch re-runs of the Adam’s West’s classic 1966 Batman television series. I’m pretty sure this show had me so motivated to be some sort of epic crime fighter, especially since every single time someone threw a punch the words ‘BAM!’ ‘POW!’ and even ‘ZAP!’ came across the screen in these dramatic pop-up bubbles during the climatic fighting scenes. The show quickly became a huge success with audiences, and Adam West and Burt Ward quickly became modern pop culture icons. The series made its debut on ABC, January 12, 1966 and ran until 1968. Even though the live-action episodes were only 30-minutes long, it was overall pretty exciting.

Adam West was a pretty awesome Batman, and his side kick Robin was played by Burt Ward. Even though the fight scenes were pretty cheesy and some of the scenes, watching it now, make absolutely no sense… I somehow still find myself entertained. Like this classic scene of ‘Batman vs The Tiger’

This show was pretty great. Not only did it have plenty of action and adventure, it also taught some pretty valuable life lessons. For example: always wear your seatbelt, do your homework, don’t pet sharks, always carry your ‘bat ear’ pieces, and drink plenty of milk. Lessons to live by 🙂

The series introduced some great villains including the Joker, Penguin, The Riddler, and of course Cat Woman.

Remember this bomb scene below? I have to say, this added music totally matches the scene:

Who else remembers this classic show??
