Kesha and Ben Folds Beautifully Cover Bob Dylan Classic

To say things have been tough lately for Kesha would be a massive understatement however, last night, she proved just how strong and talented she truly is.

Her very public battle with record producer, Dr. Luke, has been making headlines for years.  In October 2014, Kesha sued Dr. Luke, claiming sexual assault and battery, sexual harassment, intentional infliction of emotional distress as well as many other allegations.  In response, a countersuit was filed alleging this was all just a ploy to extort Dr. Luke and to free Kesha from honoring her contract.  A New York judge has dismissed Kesha’s claims which, understandably, has devastated the singer.

Just this week, once again, she had to battle with her record label in order to be given permission to perform at this weekend’s Billboard Music Awards.  A few days ago, she posted this to her Instagram:

Today, Kesha’s record label announced that she is now permitted to attend the Billboard Music Awards however, last night, before knowing this, Kesha joined Ben Folds at Orpheum Theater in Los Angeles and got her chance to perform her tribute to Bob Dylan by singing It Ain’t Me, Babe.

Now, let me preface this by saying, while that Timber song is pretty catchy, personally, I am not a fan of Kesha’s music however, I absolutely adore Ben Folds.  After watching the clip and, adding in the additional emotional connotations from her legal battle, this performance absolutely blew me away.

Ben Folds takes a back seat by playing accompaniment while Kesha shows just how amazingly, vocally talented she truly is.  Check out the beautiful cover/tribute below.

What do you think of the performance?
