Are you ready for more Kirkman? AMC certainly is! On Tuesday, the network announced a new docu-series in the works from The Walking Dead creator, Robert Kirkman and Skybound Entertainment called Heroes and Villains: The History of Comic Books.
The series will be six, one hour long episodes exploring the people and stories behind comic books, including pop culture, race, gender and sexuality and the origins of famous superheroes and characters.
Kirkman as well as David Alpert will executive produce alongside Skybound Film and TV Division Co-Presidents Bryan and Sean Furst. AMC’s Senior VP of Nonfiction and Alternative Programming Eliot Goldberg will oversee alongside Director of Nonfiction and Alternative Kelly Nash, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Kirkman told sources in a press release:
“At the end of the day I am a comic fan first and foremost. I am a lover of the medium and the stories it enables people to tell. I’m excited to partner with AMC once again to bring the stories of some the most influential people in comics to a television audience.”
Heroes and Villains: The History of Comic Books will premiere in 2017. Will you be watching?
