Olivia Munn Turned Down Role in ‘Deadpool’
Moreno Baccani (Homeland) played the role of Deadpool’s girlfriend in the film, but it was originally offered to Olivia Munn.
According to the X-Men star, she didn’t want to play a girlfriend character and wanted to have more action in the roles she takes, similarly to Psylocke in X-Men:Apocalypse. “I thought Psylocke was always one of the most lethal characters, and I said,
‘Yes, as long as you’re not using her to be the eye candy. She has really powerful abilities.’ And they said, ‘Yes, that’s an important part.'”
Munn has been on the scene since 2004, and is well known for her role on HBO’s “The Newsroom.” She has had roles in “Magic Mike,” “Mordecai” “Deliver Us From Evil,” and “Ride Along 2.”
