‘Supernatural’ Preview ‘Don’t Call Me Shurley’

By the looks of the below episode synopsis, ‘Supernatural’ is going back to where season 11 began… into the fog. In the season premiere, after the Winchesters woke up amidst the fog that is The Darkness, they found their way to a town where everyone went crazy. They were infected by The Darkness and began committing senseless acts of violence.

They guys were able to find a cure, which was a good thing because Sam was nearly lost to the madness. Now, it appears as the fog is rolling into another town, but this time, the cure won’t be an option.

ROB BENEDICT RETURNS
— Amara (guest star Emily Swallows) unleashes a dark fog on a small town, causing everyone to go mad. Dean (Jensen Ackles) and Sam (Jared Padalecki) realize this is a stronger version of the original black vein virus Amara previously unleashed. They team up with the sheriff to protect the town but their old remedy no longer works. Meanwhile, Chuck (Rob Benedict) returns with an interesting proposal. Robert Singer directed the episode written by Robbie Thompson (#1120).

I’ve no doubt that one way or another the guys will find a way to cure at least some of the townspeople at risk in this new town, but I am more interested in the possible proposal that brings Chuck Shurley back into the Winchester’s orbit. Will he finally reveal his true identity, or at least confirm to us that he IS the all-knowing, all-powerful Father of all Creation?

The promo above also shows that another familiar face makes his return… Metatron. Maybe Chuck doesn’t appear to the Winchesters after all. Maybe, Chuck goes to find the old Scribe of Heaven to somehow make HIM a deal. What do you think?

‘Supernatural’ airs the penultimate episode of Season 11, ‘Don’t Call Me Shurley’ on Wednesday, May 4 at 9/8C on the CW.
