Walker Stalker Convention Postpones Event Due to North Carolina Bill
Walker Stalker Convention, a pop culture event with locations in more than a dozen cities across the country, announced this morning that it will be postponing its Charlotte, North Carolina event scheduled to take place next month due to North Carolina House Bill 2.
Originally scheduled for June 25th and 26th, the event will now be held on December 17th and 18th, 2016. According to a post made to the event’s official Facebook page this morning:
“Walker Stalker Convention has always been a place for ALL fans, regardless of who they are, or who they love. As such, we must add our voice to those opposing the injustice of North Carolina House Bill 2, and postpone our June 25th and 26th 2016 Charlotte event.
Walker Stalker joins several other performers and groups who have recently cancelled and moved shows
because of the bill, including Bruce Springsteen, Blue Man Group, Ringo Starr, Ani DiFranco, Pearl Jam and Boston. Says Walker Stalker, “We have faith in the people of North Carolina, and have moved our event…in the hope that by that time
this unfair law will have been repealed. We will continue to evaluate the situation in the coming months.”
House Bill 2 law bans people from using public bathrooms that do not match their biological sex, and bans cities within the state from passing all anti-discrimination ordinances protecting gay and transgender people.

You know this isn’t over, and
the more press this gets the more
people are going to channel there anger. I have many friends and relatives
still
in NC. Most of them
don’t care what a LGBTer does and they don’t want any one
discriminated
on, but they do care for the
families and children and don’t feel
comfortable what this can have happen
in public restrooms, and it more
of the
creeps and creatons that will abuse this law and do the bad things
that do
happen today, just now
they will have a “Excuse” why they were in the ladies
room. Its going to get
a lot uglier before its threw.
