DC’s ‘Lobo’ Gets a Writer

Jason Fuchs to Write Lobo Script for Warner Bros.

Variety reports that Jason Fuchs, who is currently working on Wonder Woman, has been hired to pen another comic book adaptation, this time for the highly- intelligent mercenary and bounty hunter Lobo.

Lobo was created by Roger Silfer and Keith Giffin in 1983 and his popularity surged in the 1990s when he was reimagined as a bike-riding anti-hero. He was an answer to Marvel’s Punisher and Wolverine as he has a taste for senseless violence and booze.

It will be interesting to see which character Fuchs decides to go with. Originally, Lobo is a big blue alien who has a habit for brute force. Most recently, Lobo was reimagined for The New 52 comics as being a little bit smaller and more dashing. For comparison, think of the original as being more Wolverine-like with his New 52 version as being Han Solo. Either would be great to see and I am excited that they are moving forward with this project. Lobo is a fun character and has the potential to match up to Marvel’s most recent release, Deadpool.
