Next week’s Pokemon Unite update will include Aegislash as a playable Pokemon. The bizarre (and popular) Pokemon Aegislash will be introduced as an All-Rounder character in Pokemon Unite on February 10, 2022.The Pokemon is a Steel/Ghost-type Pokémon with two distinct transformations. The Blade forme has lots of attack power, while the Shield forme is resistant to attacks. Both forms appear in Pokemon Unite, although it’s uncertain whether the Pokemon can change between the two or if there’s some sort of game mechanic at play. Aegislash is seen below:

The game is a MOBA-style free-to-play title with 5v5 team fights. They create a single Pokemon and level it up by vanquishing wild Pokemon and rivals. Players can collect Aeos Energy from wild Pokemon and use it to score goals on the opponent’s side. While the game lacks some of the features found in traditional Pokemon games (such as type advantages), it is a entertaining combination of MOBA-style tactics and classic Pokemon. Players must purchase Unite Licenses from the game’s store in order to utilize those Pokemon in matches while playing. Simply put, you may purchase Unite Licenses with real money. You can either use Aeos Coins, an in-game currency earned by playing matches, or a premium currency purchased using real cash to buy them.
In 2021, Aegislash will be the second Pokemon to be released in Pokemon Unite, following Trevenant’s release in January. According to the game’s social media platforms, two more playable Pokemon will be introduced in the coming weeks.
With new players joining the roster and additional support, Pokemon Unite is readying for its inaugural competitive season as well. Last month, the game’s director announced that Pokemon Unite will be part of the Pokemon World Championships, an annual group of tournaments featuring various Pokemon games. The game will also include a tournament mode that disables leveled held objects to promote an even playing field. More details about the competitive season to come will be provided in the near future. The game will also have support for several new languages available early this year.
