13 Reasons Why season 2 release date…welcome to your tape.
It looks like Netflix had a lot more up their sleeve yesterday when they released a short teaser trailer titled “the truth is developing” because later in the day, fans were treated to a full-length teaser AND a release date!
The new teaser trailer, which clocks in just under two minutes, further confirms that photographs will be the guiding force of season 2 instead of cassette tapes. The video shows many of the characters from season 1 frozen in place as polaroids float around them, presumably offering a deeper insight into their characters and what’s to come. It looks like Tony and Ryan may be teaming up, and one snapshot shows Tony with a black eye and a smashed car window.
Jessica will be dealing with the emotional fallout of her sexual assault and Bryce’s trial, which it looks like she may be a target for…perhaps by his family or friends?
Bryce’s trial will be a huge plot point for the season and from the looks of the teaser, he will not be on the road to any sort of redemption.
Hannah’s mother, who received the tapes in season 1, is diving further into the case, looking for more answers as to what really lead to Hannah’s suicide. It also looks like their For Sale signs have some nasty messages written on them as well.
And lastly, Clay Jensen’s story will continue to revolve around his special connection to Hannah Baker. He also appears to be getting threatening messages much like Jessica and Hannah’s parents.
The teaser ends with Clay picking up a photo of Hannah and flipping it over to reveal that “the tapes were just the beginning.”
Netflix also announced that the series will be returning on May 18, 2018, which is so much closer than we would have thought! So, get those feelings ready and prepare yourself to re-enter the world of Hannah Baker. Check out the whole video below!
Having studied Media & Writing at James Madison University, I always knew that I wanted to do some type of creative writing, but being able to write about zombies, Starks, and superheroes on a daily basis for Fan Fest is my actual dream. While I probably shouldn’t be as proud as I am to be so similar to Nick Miller, I do hope to one day write my own “Pepperwood Chronicles’.
