Holy Odin, ‘Vikings’ Is Ending After Season 6!

Holy Odin, 'Vikings' Is Ending After Season 6!Our fellow heathens, it appears the ‘gods’ have made a devastating decision. History’s hit show Vikings will be ending after season 6, and we’re not sure why The Seer didn’t prepare us for this!

The series is currently in its second half of season 5 which will finish up towards the end of January. Season 6 is most likely going to air in late 2019 and early 2020, so fans will at least have one more season before the show rides off to Valhalla.

The early part of the series centered around the charismatic figure of Ragnar Lothbrok played by Travis Fimmel as he ventured to discover new lands and attain fame. After his death in season 4, the story successfully continued following his wife Lagertha (Katheryn Winnick) and his sons: Bjorn Ironside ((Alexander Ludwig), Ubbe (Jordan Patrick Smith), Iver the Boneless (Alex Høgh Andersen), Hvitserk (Marco Ilsø), and Sigurd (David Lindström).

While we are going to miss our fierce warriors, all is not lost as it appears that Vikings creator Michael Hirst and MGM Television are in talks with the History channel about a possible new series that would allow for the Vikings saga to continue. For now, we will enjoy the remainder of season 5 and relish every moment of season 6. We can only pray to Odin and the Gods that the network, Hirst, and MGM Television figure something out to keep the Vikings franchise going!Holy Odin, 'Vikings' Is Ending After Season 6!

Vikings airs on Wednesdays at 9 p.m. EST on History.
