The Walking Dead finished the first half of Season 10 two weekends ago, leaving fans with a real cliffhanger.  Season 10 has been the highest rated season in terms of fan opinion in the ten year run of the zombie drama.  AMC provides a look behind-the-scenes at the filming and production of the first half of Season 10.  Spoilers ahead if you aren’t up to date!

The nearly twelve minute video gives details in to the creation of the dramatic scenes of Season 10, including the pilot episode grandiose moments on the beach and the fallen satellite.  The video includes details into the creation of weapons, walker effects, and how the production team prepares for an episode.

The video also features the return of Michael Cuditz (Abraham) to the directors chair.  Cudlitz said, “I’m pretty early on in my directing career, so everything that works, I’m pretty much responsible for,” he continued, “And things that don’t, that’s me leaning heavily on people who have failed me,” he joked.

Also, the video takes a detailed look into the final scene of the season, which includes how the cavern was created and the stunts involved in having the actors, like Norman Reedus (Daryl), fall into the cavern.  “When we end the half season, they’re stuck in a cave and the cave is filled with walkers,” said Showrunner Angela Kang, “what do we do we do next? We’ve got something really exciting and crazy planned!”
