‘The Good Doctor’ Season 2 Premiere Preview – ‘Hello’

The wait is finally almost over, and man, does it feel good to be back previewing a brand new episode of ABC’s The Good Doctor. To paraphrase the incredibly enthusiastic Hill Harper, “I’m excited!”

Season two will pick up right where the first season left off with Dr. Shaun Murphy (played by Freddie Highmore) in a tough spot at work. At the end of the first season, Shaun was at risk of losing his job after making a major mistake during a surgical procedure. He was distracted while operating after finding out that his mentor and best friend Dr. Aaron Glassman (played by Richard Schiff) is dying from a rare form of cancer. The season finale ended with both Shaun and Dr. Glassman walking into Dr. Andrews’s (played by Hill Harper) office to face their professional fate.

The season two premiere shows the immediate repercussions of that conversation. There’s a new sheriff in town at St. Bonaventure, Dr. Glassman is beginning his treatments, Dr. Kalu is trying to survive his last day at work, and Shaun, well, he’s still the same old Shaun.

Check out the official synopsis below for Monday’s new episode titled Hello as well as a sneak peak of the upcoming season as told by the incomparable Freddie Highmore. Also, make sure you check out our exclusive interview with Dr. Melendez himself, Nicholas Gonzalez, as he previews what lies ahead for viewers in season 2.

The Good Doctor returns with all-new episodes Monday, September 24th at 10 PM EST!
