‘The First Purge’ Maze is Heading to Universal Studios’ Halloween Horror Nights

Universal Studios’ Halloween Horror nights just got a whole lot more terrifying!

In addition to the incredible line up for this year’s Horror Nights, the theme park has just added an all-new scare zone based on the recent film The First Purge, Entertainment Weekly reports. The new zone will be in the form of a maze which places guests brave enough to enter in the middle of a social experiment where all crime is deemed legal for a 12-hour period.

The Halloween Horror Nights announcement teaser video below starts off with an emergency broadcast alert warning, “Weapons of Class 4 and lower have been authorized for use during the experiment. All other weapons are restricted. Commencing at the siren, any and all crime, including murder, will be legal for 12 continuous hours.” Check out the video below:

The First Purge hit theaters last week on July 4th. The film’s synopsis says, “behind every tradition lies a revolution. Next Independence Day, witness the rise of our country’s 12 hours of annual lawlessness. Welcome to the movement that began as a simple experiment: The First Purge. To push the crime rate below one percent for the rest of the year, the New Founding Fathers of America (NFFA) test a sociological theory that vents aggression for one night in one isolated community. But when the violence of oppressors meets the rage of the marginalized, the contagion will explode from the trial-city borders and spread across the nation.”

The First Purge maze joins already announced scare zones based on the hit nostalgic Netflix series Stranger Things and the legendary cult horror classics Trick ‘R Treat, and Child’s Play’s Chucky and Killer Klowns from Outer Space.

With so much scare action already in store for those brave enough to attend, this year is sure to be one of Universal’s best Halloween Horror Nights!

Halloween Horror Nights will begin on Friday, September 14th in Hollywood and Orlando and on Friday, September 28th in Singapore.
