Marcel the Monkey From ‘Friends’ is Coming Back to TV
Friends had a lot of memorable moments, including Marcel the Monkey!
It’s been 25 years since Katie the white-headed capuchin monkey, warmed our hearts and she’s back at it.
Now, she’s been cast as a pet monkey named Ampersand in FX’s Y: The Last Man, based on a graphic novel by Brian K. Vaughan and Pia Guerra, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Ampersand is the only male on the planet, aside from Barry Keoghan’s Yorick Brown.
“Y traverses a post-apocalyptic world in which a cataclysmic event has decimated every male save for one lone human,” the logline teases. “The new world order of women will explore gender, race, class and survival.”
According to Katie’s trainer, capuchin monkeys can live to 40, and Katie is only in her mid to late twenties (so she still has quite a bit of acting years ahead of her. She also models as well, having modeled with some of the elite, such as Kendall Jenner.
“There’s nothing like a really experienced actor who knows how to hit their marks!” FX CEO John Landgraf said. “[She’s] still as good!”
The show also stars Amber Tamblyn, Diane Lane, and Lashana Lynch.
Katie has her own IMDb page that includes her time on Friends, The Loop, 30 Rock, and Sam & Cat.
