Recently Todd Phillips mentioned to an interview that the Joker film will not follow any of the comic book storylines. This film will be unique in its own way and will show an original story behind the clown prince of crime.

Joker is directed by Todd Phillips and is produced by Bradley Cooper and Emma Tillinger Koskoff. The movie will star Joaquin Phoenix, Zazie Beetz, Robert De Niro, Marc Maron, and many more.

Joker will hit theatres on October 4, 2019.

Read the official synopsis of the film below:

“Joker” centres around the iconic arch nemesis and is an original, standalone story not seen before on the big screen. Phillips’ exploration of Arthur Fleck (Phoenix), a man disregarded by society, is not only a gritty character study but also a broader cautionary tale.
