J.K Rowling Reveals Fantastic Beasts 2 Script Is Finished

During a press tour promoting Alien: Covenant earlier this month, Katherine Waterston (Porpentina Goldstein) revealed that filming for the Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them sequel begins in July. Now, J.K Rowling has confirmed that she has completed the script for the follow-up film.

The Harry Potter spin-off film released last year – which stars Eddie Redmayne as lead protagonist, Newt Scamander – proved to be an international success making $814 million at the box office. During a fan event whilst promoting the film back in November, Rowling revealed the series will be made up of 5 films, making fans ecstatic with the idea of 4 more sequels.

Rowling revealed the update on the script via Twitter yesterday when a fan asked about its current status. Rowling then went on to reply with: “Yes, I have [finished the script], but I CAN’T TELL YOU ANYTHING YET, WOMAN.”

What we do know so far about the anticipated upcoming film is that it will be set in Paris, where filming will also reportedly take place. With production set to take shape in the next couple of months, new cast members have been announced for the magical sequel. British actor, Callam Turner, will star as Newt’s brother and reported back in April Jude Law has signed on to play a young Dumbledore.

After making brief cameo’s in the first film, Johnny Depp (Gallert Grindelwald) and Zoë Kravitz (Leta Lestrange) will join the cast for the sequel. Eddie Redmayne (Newt Scamander), Ezra Miller (Credence) and Katherine Waterston (Tina Goldstein) will also return; however no word yet whether Alison Sudol (Queenie Goldstein) and Dan Fogler (Jacob Kowalski) will appear in the film.

Warner Bros, have set the release date as November 16, 2018 for the Fantastic Beasts sequel.
