First Official Poster for ‘Aquaman’ Has Finally Surfaced!

After what seems like an eternity of waiting, we are finally starting to get more and more details regarding DC and Warner Bros. highly-anticipated upcoming film Aquaman.

Just yesterday, Director James Wan gave us a behind-the-scenes sneak peek at the upcoming trailer. Now, just days ahead of the film’s first trailer debut at San Diego Comic-Con on Saturday, a brand new poster dropped online via the film’s Twitter account showing off Jason Momoa’s Aquaman front and center. Momoa’s Arthur Curry (aka. Aquaman) is seen perched atop a coral reef which has formed in front of his home city of Atlantis. He is surrounded by sharks, whales, rays, sea turtles and more oceanic creatures stretching as far as the eye can see.

The artwork is breathtakingly beautiful and surely paints a brighter picture for the film than fans might be used to coming from DC and Warner Bros. Check out the first look poster below:

After his first appearance in 2016’s Batman V. Superman and later on in DC’s Justice League, Momoa reprises his role as Arthur Curry (aka. Aquaman, half-human, half-Atlantean and King of the Seven Seas, ruler of Atlantis). The film also stars Amber Heard (as Mera), Patrick Wilson (as the villainous Orm/Ocean Master), Temuera Morrison (as Tom Curry), Yahya Abdul-Mateen II (as Black Manta), Nicole Kidman (as Queen Atlanna), Dolph Lundgren (as King Nereus) and Oscar-nominee Willem Dafoe (as Nuidis Vulko).

Aquaman is directed by James Wan, best known for his work on The Conjuring and Insidious films. This is Wan’s first dip into the superhero world. He also directed Furious 7 which ended up being the top grossing film of the Fast and Furious franchise. Peter Safran is producing along with Zack and Deborah Snyder, Rob Cowan, Jon Berg and Geoff Johns serving as executive producers.

The trailer will be released during San Diego Comic-Con which runs from July 19th – 22nd. Aquaman will officially splash down into theaters on December 21, 2018.
