The series premiered with rave reviews from viewers loving the show’s gruff and gory take on Superheroes. The series is described as follows:

[row]”The Boys is an irreverent take on what happens when superheroes, who are as popular as celebrities, as influential as politicians and as revered as Gods, abuse their superpowers rather than use them for good. It’s the powerless against the super powerful as The Boys embark on a heroic quest to expose the truth about “The Seven”, and their formidable Vought backing.”[/row]

In addition to Capon, Fukuhara, Quaid, and Alonso, the series also stars Karl Urban, Antony Starr, Erin Moriarty, Dominique McElligott, Jessie T. Usher, Chace Crawford, Nathan Mitchell, and Elisabeth Shue.

Kripke developed the series which is based on the New York Times best-selling comic by Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson. Kripke is also the showrunner, writer, executive producer, and director on the season 1 finale. Seth Rogen, Evan Goldberg, and James Weaver executive produce under Point Grey Pictures with Neal H. Mortiz, Pavun Shetty and Ori Marmur under Original Film. Kevin Levin and Jason Netter also executive produce. Ennis and Robertson also co-executive produce.
