Disney Confirms a Marvel-Themed Superhero Land Expansion is Coming to California’s DisneyLand

It’s been about 2 months since the Guardian of the Galaxy: Mission Breakout ride took over the Tower of Terror landscape in Anaheim, California’s Disneyland.  Opening to rave reviews and of course, the hilarious reactions from its thrill-seeking riders, the attraction was said to be only just the beginning of a brand new Marvel presence within Disneyland.

You may remember hearing about a mysterious hatch which resides right of the Guardians of the Galaxy ride, branded with the signature Avengers “A”.  The hatch created quite a bit of buzz on the internet leading fans to wonder and speculate that more Marvel attractions would soon be on the way.  At Disney’s D23 Expo on Saturday, it was confirmed that, in fact, more Marvel magic will be making its way to Disneyland.

Details are limited at this time but, chairman of Disney’s parks and resorts Bob Chapek did confirm that The Guardians of the Galaxy will be joined by the likes of Spider-Man and, of course, The Avengers, in the new Marvel-themed land.

In order to make room for the new Marvel expansion, fans have already started to predict which attractions may be making their way to the Disney vault, just like The Tower of Terror did when Mission Breakout came along.  Right now, fans seem to think the nearby A Bug’s Land area will be revamped into a new Marvel universe.  Chapek did not comment on these details either but did say, “We keep moving forward and trying new things.”
