Brie Larson Commemorates Filming Wrap on ‘Captain Marvel’

One of Marvel’s most-anticipated films has just taken a giant step forward in production. Marvel Studios’ Captain Marvel has officially wrapped on filming!

Over the weekend, the film’s star Academy Award-winning actress Brie Larson commemorated the end of filming by posting a picture to her social media accounts. The photo shows a calendar with the date July 6th circled and the words “First Day Home” are handwritten underneath the date. Sitting on top of the calendar is a clapperboard from the film which appears to be autographed (kind of like a senior yearbook) by the cast and crew of the film.

Larson did not include a caption on her post, but no words were needed. The picture alone was enough to set the Marvel fandom on fire with excitement. Check out Larson’s post below:

At this point, very little is known about the upcoming Captain Marvel film and Larson was particularly careful not to give away any new details or spoilers. We do know that the film is set in the 1990s and will follow Air Force pilot Carol Danvers (played by Larson). When Danvers’ DNA becomes mixed with that of an alien, she becomes one of the most powerful superheroes ever.

Marvel has already given fans a little tease of Captain Marvel. During a post-credit scene following Marvel’s Avengers: Infinity War, right before Nick Fury succumbs to Thanos’ snap, he’s able to send a signal for help. That signal was sent to Captain Marvel! Could she be the key to defeating Thanos in Avengers 4?

In addition to Larson, the film also stars Jude Law, Ben Mendelsohn, Samuel L. Jackson, Clark Gregg, Lee Pace, Gemma Chan, and Djimon Hounsou. Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck directed the film which was written by Boden and Fleck as well as Meg LeFauve, Nicole Perlman, Geneva Robertson-Dworet, Liz Flahive, and Carly Mensch.

Captain Marvel is set to be released on March 8, 2019.
