‘Black Panther’ Made Over $25 Million On Its First Night
We are only one day into Black Panther’s cinematic journey and it’s already breaking records and bringing in the money. The Marvel film grossed $25.2 million in ticket sales from Thursday showings in the USA and Canada, setting a February record.
The film dethroned previous Thursday night record holder, Fox’s Deadpool, grossing nearly double the $12.7 million the sarcastic mercenary earned on its first night. Not to mention, Black Panther‘s outstanding numbers also make it the second-highest opening for a Marvel film just behind 2015’s Avengers: Age of Ultron.
The success was certainly expected seeing as Fandango said that in terms of ticket presales Black Panther was the fourth-biggest film behind the three recent Star Wars films and the highest preselling superhero movie ever. So, we think it’s safe to say that the Ryan Coogler directed movie is about to have a spectacular weekend at the box office.
Long story short- go see Black Panther asap!

Having studied Media & Writing at James Madison University, I always knew that I wanted to do some type of creative writing, but being able to write about zombies, Starks, and superheroes on a daily basis for Fan Fest is my actual dream. While I probably shouldn’t be as proud as I am to be so similar to Nick Miller, I do hope to one day write my own “Pepperwood Chronicles’.
