‘A Star is Born’ Heading Back to Theaters with New Footage

If the performance of “Shallow” at the Oscars did not have you clamoring to watch A Star is Born again, Warner Brothers might be giving us all a reason to head back to theaters to enjoy the feature one more time this upcoming Friday. The film will contain twelve more minutes of additional never-before-seen footage for audiences upon its re-release. While most of the additional footage are extensions of performances fans previously watched including, “Black Eyes”, “Abili”, and Ally’s impromptu performance of “Shallow” in the parking lot, one can hope extended scenes without music exist too.

Extended performances are not the only additions to the feature though. Additional footage of Ally singing “Is That Alright” during the wedding sequence to Jack and Jack singing “Too Far Gone” are also featured within the film. I cannot wait to see Jack singing in the studio. Fans of the film will also become pleased to discover that an entirely new song is also part of the extra footage in the upcoming re-release. The song “Clover” which Ally and Jack were working on is also set to be part of this release. One can only hope this is an additional duet of the pairing audiences have come to know and love this past movie season.

While the film is not a musical, fans know the film for its music all the same. After all, the film took home it’s only Oscar win for Best Achievement in Music Written for Motion Pictures.  Ally and Jack have an appeal that strikes a cord with audiences. Something tells me the money the film will garner this upcoming weekend will be larger than most outlets anticipate.  Considering the film is available on both Blu-ray and DVD I can understand why outlets would doubt for a high return.  However, the chance for fans to watch the love story unfold between both Jack and Ally once more on the big screen is priceless.

If A Star is Born was not your cup of tea though, other Oscar winners are set to come back to theaters this upcoming weekend as well. They include this year’s Best Picture winner, Green Book, and Best Animated Feature winner, Spider-Man Into the Spider-Verse.  The re-releases also focus on two of the other biggest categories for the Oscars.  The Favourite, which features this year’s winner for Best Actress Olivia Colman, and Bohemian Rhapsody, which features this year’s winner for Best Actor Rami Malek, will also be in theaters for movie goers to enjoy this upcoming weekend too.

The theatrical re-release of A Star is Born happens this Friday, March 1, 2019.  Fans can also purchase the film both online and in stores everywhere Blu-rays and DVD are sold.
