Star Wars: Heartwarming ‘Rise of Skywalker’ Commercial Goes Viral For Inclusion

Break out the tissues! Not just yet for Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, but for a commercial made for Globe.com with the intent to draw attention for supporting the needs of those with disabilities.

On its website it’s encouraging customers to “Help provide useful tools and equipment for people with disabilities (PWD) when you donate using your Globe Rewards points to Virtualahan, a virtual school for PWD.”

The website is also hosting a contest to visit the set of Star Wars, along with other prize giveaways.

The commercial shows to young boys who are working hard to build an x-wing in their living room.  They go throughout the community to obtain different pieces. Their overall goal or intent is never revealed until they bring a friend to sit in the cockpit of their contraption.

The commercial is a wonderful example of how important inclusion is in everything we do.  This stresses the importance of making sure that everyone can share experiences, as best as possible.

J.J. Abrams returns to direct the final film of the nine part saga. The film is described as, “The surviving Resistance faces the First Order once more as Rey, Finn and Poe Dameron’s journey continues. With the power and knowledge of generations behind them, the final battle commences.”

Palpatine is not the only character returning for the final film, along with fan-favorites C-3PO, R2-D2, and Chewbacca, Lando Calrissian (Billy Dee Williams) also returns to fly the Millennium Falcon once again!

Like all great endings, fans are hoping that this final film answers a lot of questions that the past films have not addressed. The biggest mystery continues to be, ‘Who are Rey’s parents?’ Rey’s background story is largely unknown and potentially an axis point to the climax of this final film.

Check out Star Wars in theaters on December 20th but first, check out this commercial and let us know your thoughts in the comments below.
