Jurassic World: Third Film Heads to Production and Gets Working Title

The third and possibly final installment in the Jurassic World franchise is slated to start filming soon, according to Production Weekly. The news also confirms that the working title for the production is, “Arcadia.”

In the film Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom, “Arcadia” was the name of the large vessel that shipped the dinosaurs from Isla Nublar to the Lockwood Manor auction.

There is very little known about the film and “Arcadia” does not provide any real indication of the story line. However, we do know that director, Colin Trevorrow, is bringing back more of the characters from the original films.

Up until know, B.D. Wong has reprised his role from the early Jurassic films, along with Jeff Goldblum, as Dr. Ian Malcolm.

In an interview with Empire, Trevorrow said, “We’d have to come up with a reason why Ellie, Malcolm, and Grant all went to the them park on the exact same day it Brock down – again. The next film allows the legacy characters to be part of the story in an organic way. Emily Carmichael and I call it, ‘Jurassic Park VI’, because it is.”

The return of the ‘legacy’ characters will hopefully close this trilogy with a lot of nostalgia from the earlier films. Although the most recent fifth film was a financial success, it was not a critical success. So here’s to the hope that this final film can finish strong, not only for the trilogy but for the entire Jurassic saga.

Are you excited about the final film in the Jurassic World trilogy? What are you hoping that this last film will accomplish?
