Marvel: Scarlett Johansson Is Uncomfortable With Stephen Colbert’s Fan Theory

Scarlett Johansson visited The Late Show with Steven Colbert and the host had an interesting theory to pitch the Black Widow actress.  Colbert had a theory that the Black Widow film would be her final appearance in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Colbert told Johansson that he believes Black Widow will be her last movie as Black Widow because it is her eighth appearance as Black Widow (following Iron Man 2, Marvel’s The Avengers, Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Captain America: Civil War, Avengers: Age of Ultron, Avengers: Infinity War, and Avengers: Endgame).

The trailer for Black Widow premiered this past week. Despite her death in Avengers: Endgame (Sorry), Natasha Romanoff lives on in all of her glory. Black Widow will focus on Natasha’s life and the secrets that she has shielded from the world. This will be our chance to learn more about our favourite assassin, where she came from, her training and, more importantly, her family. Even Endgame gave us a little peak into what to expect with Red Skull stating her father’s name.

For those who want to know, Black Widow takes place after Civil War but before Infinity War. After Black Widow helps Steve escape the airport battle, Widow goes into exile and this film will show what she got up to. This will probably involve some flashbacks originally  teased in Age of Ultron which finally showed how she became the deadly assassin that we all know, love and fear.

Watch the video below and let us know what you think of Colbert’s theory.  Is this her last appearance as Black Widow in the MCU?  We aren’t so sure ourselves and we certainly hope it isn’t true.
