‘Vikings’ Preview: “Ghosts, Gods and Running Dogs”

In last week’s Vikings two-hour premiere, Lagertha (Katheryn Winnick) buried her sword to live a peaceful life. King Bjorn (Alexander Ludwig) decided to answer King Harald’s (Peter Franzén) request for help. His departure left Ubbe (Jordan Patrick Smith) and Torvi (Georgia Hirst) to watch over Kattegat. Meanwhile, in Kiev, Ivar (Alex Høgh Andersen) watched Prince Oleg (Danila Kozlovsky) murder one of his brothers and then threatened the other.

In this week’s preview, it appears that King Bjorn and his army run into some trouble as they face King Olaf (Steven Berkoff). His attempt to save King Harald may not go as planned. Hvitserk’s (Marco Ilsø) mental state seems to have taken a turn for the worse. Despite Lagertha’s every effort, she must again raise her sword and fight. Meanwhile, Ivar and Prince Oleg discuss the future.

Catch up on last week’s episodes here, and watch the preview for Vikings episode “Ghosts, Gods and Running Dogs” below.

The official description of the episode is listed as follows:

Lagertha is visited by women from the nearby villages and they feast together happily but the community is shattered by shocking events that follow and Lagertha is forced to take action. In Kiev, although Oleg continues to be friendly, Ivar is aware of the threat which Oleg poses, not only to himself, but to the vulnerable young heir to the throne. Bjorn has answered the call and come to the aid of an old enemy, but all is not as it seems and disaster looms for Bjorn’s forces.

Vikings airs on Wednesdays at 9 p.m. EST on History.
