‘Riverdale’ recap “Chapter 62: Witness for the Prosecution”

Hiram is doing everything he can to get out of jail and Veronica is stuck in the middle of both his and Hermione’s trials. Veronica has a few tricks up her sleeve. She suggests that her mother pleads guilty before something worse comes out and that they get governor Dooley to help out. In other words, she’ll blackmail the governor in order for him to pardon her mother.

The weird woman is a private investigator who bugged Veronica to get information to set Hiram free. Oh and she’s Hiram’s other daughter. Hiram plans to run for mayor now… lovely.

Jughead finds out his professor is one of his favorite authors, well, he’s a ghostwriter for the Baxter Brothers. Jughead is fangirling all over this episode. The originator of the book series announces that the next ghostwriter is in Jughead’s class. Bring it on Brett! The theme: the perfect murder.

Meanwhile in Riverdale: Archie is now a crime-fighter now who is on a mission to stop Dodger and keep the community center. FP pulls some serpent wisdom out to help Archie. So, Archie invites the media to a press conference announcing a Big Brothers, Big Sisters program. It turns out Dodger is offering the local businesses protection

Betty excels at Junior FBI classes because she has the serial killer gene. This worries her and she tries to drop the class. Charles has the gene too and vows to help her suppress the darkness. This worries Betty even more.

Hiram is getting creepier and creepier by the minute. He has another daughter? And she’s a PI, of course, she is! He needs all the help he can get! And now he wants to be mayor? Also, is anyone else really bothered by Brett? I want some more backstory on him. WHAT is this time jump! JUGHEAD DIED?! Is this for real or is it part of Jughead’s writing submission?
