‘The Perfectionists’ Cancelled

Freeform has opted to not renew Pretty Little Liars: The Perfectionists for a second season.

It starred PLL alums Sasha Pieterse and Janel Parrish reprising their roles as Alison and Mona and hailed from author Sara Shepard’s book series and writer/executive producer I. Marlene King. The series also starred Sofia Carson, Sydney Park, Eli Brown, Graeme Thomas King, Kelly Rutherford and Hayley Erin.

The series did not live up to expectations as this first season averaged 260,000 Live+Same Day viewers and a 0.12 rating in adults 18-49.

In Pretty Little Liars: The Perfectionists, everything about the town of Beacon Heights seemed perfect, from its top-tier college to its overachieving residents—but nothing in Beacon Heights was as it appeared to be. When the high-stakes environment pushed the residents to a breaking point, someone snapped and killed someone. As they worked together to solve the murder mystery, it soon became clear that behind every Perfectionist was a secret, a lie—and a needed alibi.

Like us fans, Pieterse would’ve loved more closure.

“Ultimately I would have loved more closure for the fans and more answers for me,” Pieterse said. “I don’t know who killed Nolan. I know everybody has Emison questions, so I think what I’ve decided is to answer them myself.”

“They’ve started fresh and are raising the kids somewhere and are happy,” she continued. “I feel like Alison would have eventually gone back and taught at Hollis [College] and kind of just finally lived a more peaceful life and found herself better.”

Pieterse believes that Emison would’ve reconnected and lived happily ever after.

Fans have started a petition for Netflix to save the series. So far, over 23,600 fans have signed the petition.

“The finale of season one had a major cliffhanger introducing a new villain not any other show has and many fans want another season so we can find out who this villain (The Professor) is, and what is it that they want,” the petition argued. “This show will have great potential on Netflix or HBO Max so please all the fans around the world sign so we get a chance of at least a second season. We will be forever grateful.”

Fingers crossed Liars.

Ok, but who killed Nolan?
