It seems that Warner Bros. has been looking for a way to make another Matrix movie, and now it’s a reality! Keanu Reeves and Carrie-Anne Moss return as Neo and Trinity in Matrix 4. Also joining the project is Lana Wachowski who will be back to write and direct the fourth installment.
The three prior films, “The Matrix,” “The Matrix Reloaded” and “The Matrix Revolutions” were written and directed by Lana Wachowski and her sister, Lily. As of now, there is no information on the plot details or if Morpheus, played by Laurence Fishburne, will return. If the character of Morpheus does return, there is a chance we could be seeing a younger version.
We certainly can’t get enough of Reeves. He has had recent success with the “John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum” and “Toy Story 4”. Meanwhile, Moss has appeared in Marvel’s “Jessica Jones” as Jeri Hogarth.
The first movie, “Matrix,” was released almost 20 years ago. However, thankfully, this is not a reboot! Matrix 4 will join the nostalgia of the other classics also making a comeback such as “Ghostbusters,” “Terminator: Dark Fate,” and “Bill & Ted Face The Music.”
If this news makes you want to watch the first film, you can catch special screenings at select AMC theaters starting August 30!
