‘Aquaman’ to Begin Streaming on HBO NOW in August
DC’s highest-grossing film ever is coming home to HBO NOW this month! Aquaman will splash down on the streaming service starting on Saturday, August 10th.
The film broke box office records earlier this year. It surpassed The Dark Knight Rises to become the highest-grossing DC Universe film ever worldwide. Additionally, the film has become Warner Bros. third-biggest movie ever, globally.
Aquaman stars Momoa in the titular role along with Amber Heard (as Mera), Patrick Wilson (as the villainous Orm/Ocean Master), Temuera Morrison (as Tom Curry), Yahya Abdul-Mateen II (as Black Manta), Nicole Kidman (as Queen Atlanna), Dolph Lundgren (as King Nereus) and Oscar-nominee Willem Dafoe (as Nuidis Vulko). James Wan directs with Peter Safran producing along with Zack and Deborah Snyder, Rob Cowan, Jon Berg and Geoff Johns serving as executive producers.
With the film’s massive success at the box office, a sequel is already in the works. Director James Wan is producing along with Peter Safran, though there’s no word yet on if Wan will return to the director’s chair for the sequel film too. The original film’s co-writer, David Leslie Johnson-McGoldrick, will be back for part two as well. Additionally, a spin-off film is also in the works based on the monstrous sea creature, The Trench.
Aquaman will be available for streaming on HBO NOW beginning August 10th. Aquaman 2 is currently set to splash down into theaters on December 2022.
