New “The Hitchhiker’s Guide To The Galaxy” TV Show Heading To Hulu!

The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy is heading to Hulu as a TV series headed up by Jason Fuchs and Carlton Cuse. This exciting news was first reported by Deadline.

The popular series of novels by Douglas Adams was last adapted in 2005 as a feature film starring Martin Freeman. This time around the beloved series will be getting an updated treatment by writer Jason Fuchs (Wonder Woman) and show-runner Carlton Cuse (Lost). There is currently no word on whether this will be presented as a mini-series or a multiple season adaptation, although considering Douglas Adams wrote five novels in the series and Eoin Colfer wrote a sixth in 2009, I’d wager it’s safe to say that there is plenty of material to sustain a multi-year run.

For those unfamiliar with The Hitchhiker’s Guide To the Galaxy, the plot centers around Arthur Dent – a misguided and rather hopeless Englishman – as he navigates a world recently destroyed by the Vogons, an ancient race of aliens who destroyed Earth to make an intergalactic bypass. Throughout Dent’s journey he encounters multiple quirky alien lifeforms whom he befriends, including Ford Prefect – a writer for the travel guide The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy – and Marvin, the paranoid android.
