New ‘Batwoman’ Poster is Giving us Comic Book Vibes

Almost a year has gone by since Ruby Rose got cast for the Arrowverse crossover event. She proved to be an interesting actress to portray the caped crusader.

First, we got a trailer that showed the darkness of Gotham consuming Kate Kane (Ruby Rose). We now also got a new poster to fit the series. I remember back when the first image of the suit came out; I thought it was very comic book-like. Now the official Batwoman Twitter released a poster that exactly fits its hero.

Alongside the new poster, we now also have an official premiere date for this fall. Batwoman’s premiere is on October 6 on The CW!

Immediately I know Batwoman was going to be unique for the Arowverse. The CW is known for their wide diversity in their shows, seeing that Sarah Lance is sporting for both teams. Batwoman is the ultimate addition to the Arrowverse, expanding The CW’s diversity in representation. In an interview with EW, Ruby Rose mentioned that this role had a passionate factor to represent an openly gay woman on the screen.

“The fact that she is an outwardly gay superhero, which is something growing up I would’ve loved to have seen on my TV, was a big deciding factor as to why I was so passionate about the role. This [role] just meant a lot more to me because I could relate in so many ways and, at the same time, felt like this was a job that would give me a purpose every day coming into work beyond just getting to live my dream, which is acting, and would be far more rewarding than anything I’ve done in the past.” – Ruby Rose to EW
