The newest trailer for Guillermo del Toro’s Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark will send shivers down your spine.
The new trailer shows a normal group of teenagers living in a quiet, and sleepy town. While looking for a little adventure, they decide to explore a haunted house. It’s then that they discover a book full of terrifying short stories. It doesn’t take long before they discover the stories have very real consequences. Anyone mentioned in the book has some trouble coming their way when the stories from the book turn into real-life situations.

The original book series was released in 1981 with follow up volumes including More Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark (1984) and Scary Stories 3: More Tales to Chill Your Bones (1991). Each volume contained a series of terrifying short stories drawing from urban legends and local folklore accompanied by macabre illustrations by Stephen Gammell. The book series became an international best-seller.
The film stars Zoe Colletti, Michael Garza, Gabriel Rush, Austin Abrams, Dean Norris, Gil Bellows, Lorraine Toussaint, Austin Zajur, and Natalie Ganzhorn.
André Øvredal directs with del Toro co-writing and producing the film along with Daniel and Kevin Hageman. Sean Daniel, Elizabeth Grave, Jason F. Brown, and J. Miles Dale are also producing along with del Toro.
Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark will be creeping into theaters on August 9, 2019!
