‘Supergirl’ Recap ‘Will the Real Miss Tessmacher Please Stand Up?’

Supergirl Recap ‘Will the Real Miss Tessmacher Please Stand Up?’

Kara and Lena have cracked Lex’s code and they are off to Kaznia to figure out what the evil mastermind has been up to when he was supposed to be behind bars. They find the facility abandoned, but they didn’t do a great job of cleaning up when they departed. Kara and Lena find files on several aliens who were once in DEO custody. Lex was having experiments run on them. Later, they hear banging and find Eve trapped in a closet. They try and interrogate Lex’s right-hand man, but she is acting very strangely. Turns out she’s a clone (thanks to testing done on an alien who could create copies of itself), and Kara and Lena have to fight their way out of the self-destructing facility.

Along the way, Kara comes across the room where her clone lived. She sees all the pictures on the wall and even finds a journal with a picture of her and Alex in it. What terrifies her the most is that Lex knows exactly who she is. Kara keeps Lena from seeing the room, then destroys everything with her laser vision. They continue their escape, finding a room where Eve kept all of her records. Kara grabs some files and the two get out before the facility explodes. The real Eve is nowhere to be found.

Meanwhile, back in National City, Lockwood is on a revenge path following the murder of his wife. He is determined to find the alien who killed her. Lockwood arrives at the DEO in an uproar, wanting every file they have on aliens so he can find her. Brainy tries his best to intercept Lockwood, but the man can’t be stopped. To make matters worse, Lockwood also finds out about Lena’s experiments. He grabs a vial containing raw Haren-El before leaving to track down the murderer. When he finds her, there are other aliens around and Lockwood wants to take them all in. Nia and James get in his way, so he orders their arrest too. James speaks to the agents, asking if they joined the DEO in order to protect aliens as well. Lockwood is incredibly angry as the agents put down their weapons, so he drinks the vial, developing powers. He’s no match for Nia, James, and the return of Martian Manhunter though, who subdue him by throwing him into an oil tanker. The aliens escape.

On the flight back from Kaznia, Lena opens up to Kara a bit more concerning Eve’s betrayal. She feels like anyone she’s ever let in has turned around and stabbed her in the back. Lena doesn’t believe she can trust anyone anymore. While Lena is speaking, Kara removes her glasses, ready to have her friend turn around and find out the truth. But as Lena continues, she says that Kara is the only reason she still has any faith in the world. Her friendship means everything to her. Kara can’t break Lena’s heart right now and puts her glasses back on. She decides that she won’t tell Lena until after Lex is brought down. She knows that it will hurt Lena and probably destroy their friendship, but she owes her the truth.

Once back in the US, Kara takes everything they found at the compound to the President. She tells him that Lex has been pulling the strings, working with a traitor in the government, and even orchestrated the attack on the White House. While speaking, she notices that the President is keeping Kryptonite in his office. The President asks if she told anyone else about her findings, to which Kara replies no. The President then hits a button under his desk and that’s where the episode ends. Who did the President call for? Does he know Kara is Supergirl? There’s two episodes left and I have no idea how everything is going to play out.

Next week’s episode is entitled ‘Red Dawn.’
