‘Avengers: Endgame’ Brings in $500 Million at Domestic Box Office

In its second weekend in theaters, Marvel’s smash hit has broken even more records. On Friday, it had earned $40 million which officially brought the earnings to over $500 million. This was earned over 8 days in the box office.
The film has now broken a few records that Star Wars: The Force Awakens had set. Not only did it surpass the film in its first 8 days, but it also took the record for highest grossing opening day from Force Awakens.

It will most likely soon take the title of highest ever second weekend of all time.

On opening day, Endgame made $156.7 million, and $60 million during previews. It also had the first global box office openig of $1 billion.

Avengers: Endgame is the wrap up of ten years of Marvel movies and characters, and sends off some of the franchises’ most beloved.

Other films out during Endgame’s second weekend are not coming close. Romantic comedy Long Shot and thriller Intruder are behind, while UglyDolls brings up the rear.

Spoilers are abound, although the spoiler ban lifts soon. The film’s synopsis is as follows:

Adrift in space with no food or water, Tony Stark sends a message to Pepper Potts as his oxygen supply starts to dwindle. Meanwhile, the remaining Avengers — Thor, Black Widow, Captain America and Bruce Banner — must figure out a way to bring back their vanquished allies for an epic showdown with Thanos — the evil demigod who decimated the planet and the universe.

Avengers: Endgame is directed by Anthony and Joe Russo, written by Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely and stars Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Mark Ruffalo, Chris Hemsworth, Scarlett Johansson, Jeremy Renner, Don Cheadle, Paul Rudd, Brie Larson, Karen Gillan, Danai Gurira, Bradley Cooper, and Josh Brolin.
