Without a doubt, Warner Bros. Pictures and DC’s Aquaman made a splash when the film hit theaters in December of last year. The film shattered records for Warner Bros. and DC at the global box office during its theatrical run and surpassed the $1 billion mark topping the studio’s previous record with The Dark Knight Rises. Aquaman claimed its crown atop DC’s earnings list and also became Warner Bros. third biggest movie ever globally.

Now, the film has earned a different type of honor – the honor of receiving its very own Honest Trailer. Screen Junkies explore the real story behind the Aquaman film and the character’s real power which, according to the Honest Trailer, is Jason Momoa’s smolder. Check out the hilarious video below.

With Aquaman‘s massive success at the box office, a sequel is already in the works. Director James Wan is producing along with Peter Safran, though there’s no word yet on if Wan will return to the director’s chair for the sequel film too. The original film’s co-writer, David Leslie Johnson-McGoldrick, will be back for part two as well.  Additionally, a spin-off film is also in the works based on the monstrous sea creature, The Trench.

Aquaman stars Momoa in the titular role along with Amber Heard (as Mera), Patrick Wilson (as the villainous Orm/Ocean Master), Temuera Morrison (as Tom Curry), Yahya Abdul-Mateen II (as Black Manta), Nicole Kidman (as Queen Atlanna), Dolph Lundgren (as King Nereus) and Oscar-nominee Willem Dafoe (as Nuidis Vulko). James Wan directs with Peter Safran producing along with Zack and Deborah Snyder, Rob Cowan, Jon Berg and Geoff Johns serving as executive producers.

Aquaman is currently available on digital and will become available on 4K Ultra HD and Blu-ray on March 26th. Aquaman 2 is currently set to splash down into theaters on December 16, 2022.
