Both Netflix and AMC Will Air the ‘Breaking Bad’ Movie
Lights, camera, action, bitch! Vince Gilligan’s highly anticipated Breaking Bad movie won’t just air on AMC…it will also drop on Netflix. According to Deadline, the film, which will reportedly follow Aaron Paul’s character, Jesse Pinkman after the events of the series finale, would most likely drop on Netflix first before making its way to AMC.
While the award-winning series was technically an AMC original, it’s been long recognized that the show’s unprecedented success came from the many fans who discovered the show after Netflix made the early seasons available for streaming. It was a sentiment that creator Vince Gilligan also acknowledged during his Emmy speech in 2013 when his show won Best Drama.

It’s unsure if anyone else from Breaking Bad aside from Aaron Paul and Gilligan, who is writing the script, will be part of the project, but thanks to a somewhat open-ended series finale, there is certainly a lot of potential for some characters to return. Last year, series star Bryan Cranston revealed on The Dan Patrick Show that he would absolutely return if asked.

Breaking Bad premiered on AMC in January 2008 and followed Cranston as Walter White, a high school chemistry teacher diagnosed with cancer who finds himself in the dark world of cooking meth with his clueless apprentice Jesse Pinkman (Paul). The series went on to win 16 Emmy awards and currently holds a 97% on Rotten Tomatoes. It also inspired a spin-off, Better Call Saul, and still remains to be one of the most well-written and thought out series to ever hit the small screen.
