Hey everyone! February is upon us and you know what that means!  It is time to check out just what Microsoft has decided to give us with Games With Gold. Not every game is created equal however, and I am here to tell you whether or not it is worth the cost of free. Let’s take a look!

  • Bloodstained: Curse Of The Moon (Xbox One, February 1st-28th)

So I even started to write this up as a Castlevania game. Created by the original series producer, Bloodstained was well received on Kickstarter but took a long time to release to the dismay of backers. Curse Of The Moon is a retro companion game built to accommodate the stretch goals achieved in funding. If you are into Metroid-Vania types of games, you should give this one a go!

Is It Worth Free? – Maybe

Metacritic Score – 70

  • Super Bomberman R (Xbox One, February 15th-March 15th)

A classic returns! Originally making its debut on the Switch, Super Bomberman R dropped about a year later on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. One of the best things about this game is the co-op. Up to eight can play, depending on what mode you choose. While it may not be anything new, it is a fun grab to play with friends.

Is It Worth Free? – Kinda, If you play co-op

Metacritic Score – 63

  • Assassin’s Creed: Rogue (Xbox 360, February 1st-15th)

While the Xbox One titles were not as hot this month, the older titles really hit home. Assassin’s Creed Rogue was not reviewed as well as its predecessor Black Flag, but in my opinion it exceeds it in the story. A tale of betrayal and revenge, Assassin’s Creed Rogue ties perfectly to Unity and has fun pirate mechanics running through it. This is one you need to add to the collection.

Is It Worth Free? – Yes, yes, yes. Don’t listen to what a score says, it is awesome.

Metacritic Score – 72

  • Star Wars Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy (Xbox, February 16th-28th)

Here we have an oldie but a goodie. Jedi Academy is not the perfect Star Wars game, but it comes closer than many. Developed during the original Xbox’s amazing run of Star Wars games, Jedi Academy is a fun action game that makes you wish for the time LucasArts made our Star Wars games. Now I am jonesing again for Star Wars 1313

Is It Worth Free? – This Star Wars nerd will always say yes, but this one definitely is one of the good ones

Metacritic Score – 76
