New Dragon Ball Z Action RPG Announced

Rejoice Dragon Ball Z fans! Not only are you getting prime treatment with Jump Force in a few weeks, but at the Dragon Ball Fighterz World Tour Finals, Bandai Namco finally pulled the lid off of their next big thing. They had teased an announcement earlier, but now we know Dragon Ball GameProject Z is coming in 2019!

Check out the first tweet and trailer-

The tweet reads –

“Determination, Despair, and Hope — Discover the story of the mysterious Dragon Balls in the all new DRAGON BALL GAME – PROJECT Z!

Join Goku and fellow warriors in the neverending search for the ultimate fight — COMING 2019!”

From what little we know from the trailer, the story seems to focus on Goku, and may possibly tell the story from the original television series. I do have many questions given the genre choice of Action RPG. Does that mean it will play like the Xenoverse series? Or are we talking something open world, maybe similar to Assassin’s Creed Odyssey? Will there be a gear system where you can customize Goku and build on his abilities? And on that, is there a leveling system to take Goku from lowly Saiyan to Super Saiyan?

I will admit, I am not an anime person at all. My boss will probably teach me the most about this new game. But as I suck at fighters, the idea of an Action RPG intrigues me and could finally drag me into the world of Dragon Ball.

Dragon Ball Game Project Z will be arriving in 2019 on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. Are you excited about the news? What do you think the game will be like? Get your kamehamehas and spirit bombs ready and drop a comment below!
