New Fantastic Four Themed Costumes Drop Into ‘Spider-Man’ PS4’s Wardrobe For Free

Hello again true believers! Especially with the final DLC hitting in December, I was not sure we would be speaking again. But Insomniac Games has at least one more surprise up their sleeves, and we finally know what that is.

My colleague James Lister made a post about the tease Insomniac and Marvel Games made about the Fantastic Four crossing over in Marvel’s SpiderMan a few weeks ago. In case you never saw it, here is the tweet.

The tweet reads-

And for our final #FantasticFourWeek livestream announcement… something “fantastic” is coming to Marvel’s Spider-Man! Any guesses? #SpiderManPS4 @insomniacgames @PlayStation

I get the feeling most of us guessed it would be a suit, and some of us probably even guessed one of them. I know I did. But I did not think we would be getting two suits. Insomniac dropped their patch notes for update 1.14, which contained just what we are getting.

Marvel’s Spider-Man Update Version 1.14 Patch Notes For PS4

Version 1.14

  • added the Future Foundation Suit and the Bombastic Bag-Man Suit.

Fixes & Updates

  • Addressed an issue where players could not access Fast Travel from subway entrances.
  • Addressed an issue where the Aaron Aikman Armor would not unlock if the player leveled up right after unlocking the suit.

The Bombastic Bag-Man was my initial guess. A part of Amazing SpiderMan #258, Spidey dropped by Fantastic Four tower because of a little problem with his current costume that just happened to be a symbiote (Yep, otherwise known as Venom). They helped him get it off, but that left poor Peter Parker in his undies. A spare Fantastic Four suit and paper bag later, the Bag-Man suit was introduced to the world. It has also been in several other Spider-Man games.

The Future Foundation costume was definitely a surprise to me. Reed Richards (Mr. Fantastic) created the group in Fantastic Four #579. It received its own comic (FF) and Spider-Man joined in the very first issue. The suit has made appearances in multiple games, although it’s inclusion has not had the same fanfare as Bag-Man.

You can go download the patch now, and best of all, both suits are FREE! Are you excited about this crossover? Would you love a mission or two added with the Fantastic Four? Swing down to the comments and let us know what you think!
