If you aren’t already eager for the third season of Hulu’s Emmy-Award winning series The Handmaid’s Tale, we have a feeling these two new guest stars are going to get you there. According to a press release sent by Hulu and reported by VarietyGilead will be welcoming Law & Order: Special Victims Unit’s Chris Meloni and The Haunting of Hill House’s Elizabeth Reaser this season.

The pair will be playing a married couple by the names of Commander Winslow and Mrs. Winslow. Meloni’s Commander Winslow is a “powerful and magnetic commander who hosts the Waterfords on an important trip” whereas Reaser’s Mrs. Winslow will become a “friend and inspiration” to Serena Waterford ( Yvonne Strahovski). In addition, Bradley Whitford, who played Commander Joseph Lawrence during season 2, will be returning as a series regular for the upcoming third season.

The Winslow’s will be entering the scene right when tensions are extremely high for the Waterfords and Elisabeth Moss’ character June/Offred. In the season two finale, June, who was presented with the opportunity to escape the oppressive Gilead, was able to convince Serena to let her take Holly/Nicole with her so that she could grow up in a normal environment. The only problem was when she got to her getaway ride, June opted to give the baby to Emily (Alexis Bledel) instead and stay behind to ensure the safety of her daughter, Hannah, whom she had before the fall of America.

So, when season three comes around not only will the Waterfords be on high alert for Nicole, but June will once again be fighting against the dystopian regime and according to Hulu, fans can expect “startling reunions, betrayals and a journey to the terrifying heart of Gilead that will force all characters to take a stand, guided by one defiant prayer: ‘Blessed be the fight.’”

Are you excited to see Meloni and Reaser on The Handmaid’s Tale? The series is set to return to Hulu later this year.
