‘Black Widow’ Movie Set To Film Next Month

Marvel Studios are incredibly busy in 2019 with Engame, Captain Marvel and Spider-Man: Far From Home. With films like Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 on hold, for how long is currently unknown, it seems like Marvel’s next big project will be the Black Widow solo movie.

Reports indicate that the solo film will begin production on February 28th and continue through March, but at this precise moment there is no date when filming will wrap.

However, these are just rumors at the moment since Disney and Marvel have not made any official comments.

Cate Shortland has been attached as the director and Jac Shaeffer is currently overseeing the script. In terms of story, only a few details have been released but rumors suggest that the movie will take place before Iron Man. Last year, a production synopsis was released online by Production Weekly which read:

“At birth the Black Widow (aka Natasha Romanova) is given to the KGB, which grooms her to become its ultimate operative. When the U.S.S.R. breaks up, the government tries to kill her as the action moves to present-day New York, where she is a freelance operative. The standalone film will find Romanoff living in the United States 15 years after the fall of the Soviet Union.”

It is expected that Scarlett Johansson will reprise her role as Natasha Romanoff (full name: Natalia Alianovna Romanova), I’d be incredibly surprised if she didn’t star in the film especially since she’s been involved since 2010 in Iron Man 2 and since then has appeared in 5 additional MCU movies, soon to be 6 with Endgame coming this year.

Black Widow is apparently set to be released in 2020, however the precise date is currently unknown. Are you excited for Widow’s solo film? What would you like to see the film cover? perhaps an espionage mission in Russia, or maybe even some flashbacks to her training and first interaction with The Winter Solider?
