Bumblebee Camaros Go To Auction

As a Transformers fan, I thought this was really cool. Part of me was also incredibly jealous… for two reasons really. 1, I can’t drive, and 2, I don’t own a Transformer.

At it’s 48th auction, the Barrett-Jackson auction house auctioned off 4 of the original Bumblebee Camaros that feature Bumblebee’s signature yellow and black color scheme. The collection featured:

2010 Camaro from Transformers (2007) & Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen (2009)

2010 Camaro from Transformers: Dark of the Moon (2011)

2013 Camaro from Transformers: Age of Extinction (2014)

2016 Camaro from Transformers: The Last Knight (2017)

Unfortunately, all 4 cars aren’t street legal, meaning that they can only be displayed and not driven on the roads. But that is quite a collection to own.

The Chevrolet lot sold for a total of $500,000 that aims to benefit Operation Homefront, a national charity that seeks to build strong and secure military families that have struggled with PTSD, injuries, and problems like payments for bills and groceries.

The collection was bought by Rick Hendrick, owner of the NASCAR team Hendrick Motorspots. According to Sean Finegan, General Motors Manager of Corporate Events, the vehicles were sold as a set rather than individually because:

“To the true collector, to have all four of them is the right way to do it”

Whoever won the auction now has an impressive collection of Camaros! say what you will about the Transformers franchise but their selection of vehicles was spot on. My dream car is a yellow Camaro with black racing stripes. Preferably one that doesn’t transform… I really don’t want to deal with the hassle.

Here is a question for you. What movie or TV vehicle would you love to own? Let us know in the comments below.
