Is ‘Shazam!’ Fighting Multiple Villains in the Upcoming Film?

More and more things are making their way on the internet about the film, and one of those things is the new Shazam! power punch action figure that’s hit the shelves this week!

One of the things that are more prominent on the internet is the fact that Billy Batson‘s persona might be fighting more than one villain. He is going up against Mark Strong‘s Dr. Thaddeus Sivana, but there might be a hint of another group of people coming up against the hero in red. Shazam! might be going up against the Seven Deadly Sins!

The wizard trapped the seven villains in this group in the Rock of Eternity, but once let out they can take control over humans and even superheroes, which makes them fascinating to be in the film. Yesterday’s article about the action figure, where the figurine said “Why don’t you pick on someone your own size, enemies of man,” could have hinted at the possibility of the villains coming to the screen.

It was the SuperBrosMovies page that first came with the news that the Seven Deadly Sins would appear in the comic books. Their sources even say that the group existing of Envy, Lust, Greed, Wrath, Sloth, Gluttony, and Pride, will resemble the group in the New 52 comics. It isn’t the first time that this rumor gets attention, as more than a year ago the Geeks World Wide website posted something about leaked audition tapes, conspiring about who the main villain could be.

Although that the action figure links to this theory, we advise you not to get too excited. Anything can happen, and every rumor can be just that, a rumor. We’ll have to be patient and see what the movie will bring us in April!

What do you think? Will the New 52 Seven Deadly Sins make an appearance in the movie along with Mark Strong‘s Dr. Thaddeus Sivana? Let us know what you think in the comments below.

Shazam! will fly into theaters on April 5, 2019.

Movie synopsis:

“We all have a superhero inside us, it just takes a bit of magic to bring it out. In Billy Batson’s (Angel) case, by shouting out one word—SHAZAM!—this streetwise 14-year-old foster kid can turn into the adult Super Hero Shazam (Levi), courtesy of an ancient wizard. Still a kid at heart—inside a ripped, godlike body—Shazam revels in this adult version of himself by doing what any teen would do with superpowers: have fun with them! Can he fly? Does he have X-ray vision? Can he shoot lightning out of his hands? Can he skip his social studies test? Shazam sets out to test the limits of his abilities with the joyful recklessness of a child. But he’ll need to master these powers quickly in order to fight the deadly forces of evil controlled by Dr. Thaddeus Sivana (Strong).”
