6 Things We’re Excited to See in the Final Season of ‘Gotham’

Gotham’s final season is nearly upon us, and Fox is burying us in what is to come in the fifth season. From the first look, they gave us fans with the character photos, to the episodic images, until the last trailer they released. If you were like me, then there is a chance where you had your hands in your hair trying to hold in a scream. This trailer is the perfect mix of a recap with new material to make you ready for the final season. It’s all getting real, and there are a few things I’d like to point out that you might have missed.

If this didn’t make you excited in the trailer, then I don’t know what will! Seeing this scene it made me think of Tim Burton‘s first Batman movie with 1989, and I know for sure that’s an ode to that movie. After all, they did it before in the previous season with the Selina Kyle (Camren Bicondova) scene where she fell and got surrounded by cats. It feels like they’re bringing back the old to solidify the story they have. It’s working out perfectly!

2. Scarecrow and his gang

I always had a fascination for Scarecrow’s (or Jonathan Crane) storyline as a kid. Seeing how he came to play into the trailer made me realize his storyline’s just starting in Gotham! I’m curious to see how he’ll come into play. I’d love to see a small little translation of the animated series. Maybe Bruce Wayne (David Mazouz) fighting his way in and Scarecrow getting sprayed in return. AFTER Bruce Wayne fought his fear of bats when he got sprayed with fear toxins. Now wouldn’t that be amazing?

3. Enter ‘deranged girlfriend that likes rollerskates’ – aka Harley Quinn

Now, we haven’t seen everything of Jeremiah yet. I have this theory that he’s going to Arkham Asylum to find his unbalanced crew to follow him around Gotham, and in the process, he’ll find the love of his life, Harley Quinn. Then, when he’s fighting Bruce Wayne in ACE Chemicals, Jeremiah will fall into the vat and become the Joker. I can only guess that Harley will jump right in after him, to follow her puddin’ everywhere. We’ll see if I’m right or not soon enough!

4. Selina Kyle turns into a young Catwoman

Can we take a moment and enjoy the little scenes we get for our future Catwoman? Take a look at the feline gloves and the eyes, the moment she said ‘I’m better’ is the moment she’s hiding the new Selina before Bruce. How will Bruce react to this? We already know he’s stopping her in whatever decision she’s about to make.

5. Bane

I don’t know about you, but once Bane came into view I was cheering! It also felt like Dark Knight Rises moment if I’m honest. Maybe it’s all in my head, but maybe it’s the mask that’s giving me the idea. Anyway, I can’t wait to see how he all of a sudden turns up in Gotham, and how he’ll take part in the turf war.

6. Poison Ivy

Anyone who knows me, knows I’m a sucker for the Batman PC games. Ever since Peyton List took Maggie Geha‘s place in the show, I felt that she was more like the Poison Ivy I remember from the Batman Arkham games. I’m definitely not wrong on this as Ivy brings herself close to Bruce.
