‘Veronica Mars’ Adds ‘iZombie’s’ Dawnn Lewis as Chief of Police

Come the new season of Veronica Mars, there’s going to be a new Nepture Chief of Police in town. According to TVLineiZombie’s Dawnn Lewis has been cast to play Chief of Police, Marcia Langdon, in Hulu’s upcoming eight-episode miniseries revival.

Avid Marshmallows may recognize the name Marcia Langdon from the second book in the Veronica Mars series, Mr. Kiss and Tell, which was written by creator Rob Thomas and released in 2015. The role teams Lewis back up with Thomas, as the two worked together when she recurred on his CW series iZombie last season, playing Mama Leone.

Lewis is the first new character to officially be announced, joining a huge roster of returning cast including Kristen Bell (Veronica Mars),  Jason Dohring (Logan Echolls), Enrico Colantoni (Keith Mars), Percy Daggs III (Wallace Fennel), Francis Capra (Weevil), David Starzyk (Richard Casablancas), and Ryan Hansen (Dick Casablancas).

Here is the official synopsis of the series:

[row]“Spring breakers are getting murdered in Neptune, thereby decimating the seaside town’s lifeblood tourist industry. After Mars Investigations is hired by the parents of one of the victims to find their son’s killer, Veronica is drawn into a mystery that pits the enclave’s wealthy elites, who would rather put an end to the month-long bacchanalia, against a working class that relies on the cash influx that comes with being the West Coast’s answer to Daytona Beach.”[/row]

Kristen Bell recently shared a photo of the first script of the new “season” while at the cast’s first table-read, which revealed that the first episode would be called “Spring Break Forever”

Other credits for Lewis include A Different World, Hangin’ With Mr. Cooper, Major Crimes, and This Is Us. The Hulu series is set to begin production soon plans to premiere sometime in 2019!
